How to Configure Tomcat 6.0

I think it's very interesting to do this job because on one hand it's really simple to do, but on the other hand, we always make some mistakes when we do it, so I just write down my experience here, the software I use is MyEclipse 10.0:

1. after you open MyEclipse, you should create a new web Project;


2. and then, choose the "Window" on status bar, select the "Preferences";it'll pop a window just like the picture below, look at the left column, click "MyEclipse", and then "Servers". You'll see the "Tomcat" option lists in "Servers", click it and choose "Tomcat 6.x";


3. and then it'll display like this, you should choose the "Enable" button, and Browse your Tomcat home directory, remember the most important thing, when you install your Tomcat, let the path as simple as possible.


4. after this, open your cmd (Command Shell), input "netstat -ano", enter it, you'll see a long list of PID, find the row, whose Local Address is :8080, and remember the PID of it.


5. then open the Task Manager and check the Details, find the task whose PID is 8080, and end the task.


6. Ok, you have done most of the job, the last thing to do is to run your Tomcat, and Deploy your project, and then add the Tomcat on your project, after that, you can check if it can run in browse.
